Trip to Ireland!

Students from 3º ESO go to Ireland to practise their English!

Gamificación Harry Potter

The bilingual groups of 2º ESO B, 3º ESO A, B y C have played a game based on Harry Potter.

Divided into the four houses, they had to find out who the evil who had betwitched IES Tolosa was.

After each challenged passed, they received a clue and could go up to the next levels.

Eight challenges, eight levels a Trivia competition and a last Challenge have been the ingredients for a funny activity which started in the second term and finished at the third term.

Although the idea was from Carolina Amusco, the Bilingual Coordinator, lots of teachers from the School staff have taken part and enjoyed with it. Carolina Amusco, Conchi Murillo, Jéssica Enríquez, Marta Jaén and Tania Arjona, from the English Department, Laura Baca, from the Quemistry Department, Patricia Guerrero, from the Mathematics Department and Bea Rosas and Antonio Carbajo from the Physical Education Department were in charge of elaborating the challenges.
Finally, all the houses received a prize. Gryffindor, the winner house received a Certificate and a "gold" pin, Hufflepuff, the house in the second position, a "silver" pin, and Slytherin and Ravenclaw, the houses in the third and fourth position "bronze" pins.

Erasmus+ Activity from Italy

A teacher from Italy visited our School for a Job-shadowing Activity included in the programme ERASMUS+

Students from Vocational Training showed her the Bunkers Trail in La Línea and students from 3º ESO prepared some routes in La Línea she chould do.

It was an interesting experience for our students and for the School in general. We hope to continue the contact between us.

The division of the Roman Empire

THE DIVISION OF THE ROMAN EMPIRE

In the year 395, the Roman emperor Theodosius divided the empire into the Western Roman Empire and the Eastern Roman Empire.

The WESTERN ROMAN EMPIRE was invaded by BARBARIANS and dissapeared in the year 476. This date is considered to be the start of the MIDDLE AGES. This tribes were the Suebi, the Visigoths, the Ostrogoths, The Angles, the Saxons, the Franks and the Vandals.

In the territories of the former Western Empire, several kingdoms were established, for example, the Ostrogoths in Italy and the Franks in Gaul.

QUESTIONS

a) When did the Roman Empire disappear? What tribes settled in the empire´s territories?

b) Look at the map of Europe at page 81 and answer the questions :

- which barbarian tribe occupied France, Italy and England?

- which barbarian kingdom occupied the north of Africa?

Speed Dates

SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY
Today is Saint Valentine's Day and the 1° Bachillerato B-C students are celebrating love in a very unusual way. New couples appear every day thanks to social networks or dating apps or even TV programmes! We are trying to find our ideal match by "speeding dates" and that's what they are doing in this picture...

Well, in fact, they aren't the real students, but the characters they have invented!
The activity is taken from the British Council Learning website and consists of creating a personal profile and then rotate asking and giving information always sitting in pairs and changing couples every two minutes. After they have "met" 4 or 5 couples, they decide which one is the perfect mate and give reasons for their choice.

Conditional sentences Type II

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF...?

Play this board game in class and your students will surely enjoy the conditional sentences!

Procedure: The students sits in groups of three or four. The discussion activity begins with one person finding the question by rolling the dice twice. The 1st roll determines the number on the left. The 2nd roll determines the number at the top. Members of the groups can then discuss that question. TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

Our 1º Bachillerato students are learning about different kinds of relationships and one of them (María Gómez Cabello) thought it was interesting to focus and look into one specific matter: Toxic relationships. To show the results of her research, she has created a PowerPoint presentation which she has also displayed and explained in front of her classmates and her English teacher.
