CURSO DE INMERSIÓN LINGÜÍSTICA EN INGLÉS (CONVOCATORIA DEL MEC)
Desde el 13 de febrero hasta el 04 de abril de 2022 estará abierto el plazo de presentación de solicitudes de participación en la convocatoria del Ministerio para la realización de un curso intensivo de inmersión lingüística en inglés que se realizará en España durante el mes de julio. La convocatoria pertenece al Ministerio de Educación y Formación Profesional. Entre los requisitos figuran, entre otros, la condición de becaria/o y estar cursando:
- Bachillerato
- Enseñanzas profesionales de música y danza
- Grado medio de Formación Profesional
- Grado medio de artes plásticas y diseño
- Grado medio de enseñanzas deportivas
- Enseñanzas de idiomas de nivel intermedio o avanzado

Gamificación Harry Potter
The bilingual groups of 2º ESO B, 3º ESO A, B y C have played a game based on Harry Potter.
Divided into the four houses, they had to find out who the evil who had betwitched IES Tolosa was.
After each challenged passed, they received a clue and could go up to the next levels.
Eight challenges, eight levels a Trivia competition and a last Challenge have been the ingredients for a funny activity which started in the second term and finished at the third term.
Although the idea was from Carolina Amusco, the Bilingual Coordinator, lots of teachers from the School staff have taken part and enjoyed with it. Carolina Amusco, Conchi Murillo, Jéssica Enríquez, Marta Jaén and Tania Arjona, from the English Department, Laura Baca, from the Quemistry Department, Patricia Guerrero, from the Mathematics Department and Bea Rosas and Antonio Carbajo from the Physical Education Department were in charge of elaborating the challenges.
Finally, all the houses received a prize. Gryffindor, the winner house received a Certificate and a "gold" pin, Hufflepuff, the house in the second position, a "silver" pin, and Slytherin and Ravenclaw, the houses in the third and fourth position "bronze" pins.

SAINT VALENTINE'S DAY
Today is Saint Valentine's Day and the 1° Bachillerato B-C students are celebrating love in a very unusual way. New couples appear every day thanks to social networks or dating apps or even TV programmes! We are trying to find our ideal match by "speeding dates" and that's what they are doing in this picture...
Well, in fact, they aren't the real students, but the characters they have invented!
The activity is taken from the British Council Learning website and consists of creating a personal profile and then rotate asking and giving information always sitting in pairs and changing couples every two minutes. After they have "met" 4 or 5 couples, they decide which one is the perfect mate and give reasons for their choice.
We had a really good time...why don't you try playing the Speed Date in your next class?

Procedure: The students sits in groups of three or four. The discussion activity begins with one person finding the question by rolling the dice twice. The 1st roll determines the number on the left. The 2nd roll determines the number at the top. Members of the groups can then discuss that question. Our 1º Bachillerato students are learning about different kinds of relationships and one of them (María Gómez Cabello) thought it was interesting to focus and look into one specific matter: Toxic relationships. To show the results of her research, she has created a PowerPoint presentation which she has also displayed and explained in front of her classmates and her English teacher. We thought it was really interesting and might help young people to watch the behaviour of people around them and learn about themselves and the others. Have a look at it by clicking here!

ROLE PLAY. INVASION!!! GROUP ACTIVITY. 2º ESO
In groups of five you choose one of the options below. One of you will
take notes, another will be the spokesperson, and the rest of the group will
advise the spokesperson on what decisions to make.
Setting.
1000AD.
Vikings ships are coming through
the river. Your group lives in a small village along the riverside. You and
your family are in danger.
What should you do?
Options.
1. Get away. Escaping is the only way to survive a Viking invasion.
2. Defending our village. Our belongings will be destroyed if we leave
them.
3. Send a message to our Lord who lives in a castle near the village.
4. Go to the church to pray. A church is a sacred place which they will
not attack.
God will listen to our prayers.
5. Join the invaders. We must give them information about how to conquer
our lord’s castle.

CITIES OF THE WORLD
The students of 3rd ESO are learning a lot about travelling and tourism this year. After discussing about their dream trip, they made posters about different cities of the world where English is spoken and then they presented them in front of the class. They have learnt about history, literature, music or architecture. Here are some of the posters!
