This
activity is mainly aimed to 3rd ESO students, as they are studying relative
pronouns and clauses during this 3rd term. It is good practice to make
definitions by using who, which, that, whose, where, when, what . Nevertheless,
the activity can be adaptable to any level, as different groups or words can be designed at different levels of
difficulty
The
objective is learning to describe and make definitions of people, objects,
places, moments, animals… through Defining Relative Clauses.
Procedure:
*Students
are divided into groups of 6. Each group is then subdivided into three couples,
who compete against one another.
*Each
couple is given a card where there is a list with eight words beginning with
the same letter. *In each couple, a
student will have to define in less tan two minutes, the eight words until his
/her partner guesses them. (Once he/she has made the first guess, he /she now
knows the first letter of all the other words)
*After
that, the other two couples will do the same task.
*The
winner is the couple who guesses more words in less time.
*All
the couples who win in each group will compete against one another until there
is a final winner.
